This self-adjusting shank adjusts down 3 1/2 sizes and is about as easy to install as 'half-shanking" any ring. Simply measure you customer's ring size normally. Solder is not used in the original construction of Forever Fit®. The stainless steel spring floats under the cradle and may be removed during the soldering process to prevent loss of tension
- After sizing customers ring, cut off the bottom.
- Cut the Forever Fit® shank to line up with the customer's shank.
- Later press out the .021 inch pins with a mini arbor press or simply reverse a #77 or smaller drill bit in the chuck of a small drill press. Leave a 1/4 inch or less extending. Do not hammer or bend the inward on the cut areas of the adjustable shank. Do not apply direct heat to the spring. Protect it with heat sink material or remove.
- Take customer's ring and align with the bottom of the Forever Fit® shank.
- The components are precision fit, do not attempt to alter the ring after assembly.
